Back when I was looking for my first carry gun, a friend told me to look into Taurus for good quality at a reasonable price. I wanted something foolproof for pocket carry, something which would defy my best attempts to snag the draw, but could also be shot empty in-pocket just in case.
Mention Taurus and you will inevitably find doubters who write the company and its firearms off as unreliable and cheap. True, Taurus has had a muddy past but recent years and a company shake-up have driven the manufacturer to tighten quality control.
I am new here But I would like to express my affection for taurus firearms. I own 42 handguns. 17 of them are Taurus. I have never had a FTF or FTE. I had the safety on mt Pt-140 broke off by my nephew. he was a new shooter and he seemed to flip the safety as he was firing the pistol. after the safety broke I contacted taurus customer service. they said send it back. they fixed it no questions asked & sent it back. I had it back in three weeks. I have so much Taurus bashing it makes me think it is the same guy who blew up his taurus doing something wrong that would have caused any gun to explode & taurus was able to prove it was abuse & would not fix it so he is pissed & continues to bash them all the time.
