I like this little gun and trust it enough to carry it at work as a waiter. I've put about 500 rounds through it now and it has never had any problems... This is my first revolver though and it seems to kick like a mule with +P ammo, Speer Gold Dot 110gr +P to be exact. Is this normal with .38 snubbies??? I do not consider myself a recoil sensitive person as I carry a Glock 21 with 165gr+P Pow'rball ammo.
Supporting a wife and child on one income can be difficult so I limit my expense on a firearm. The Taurus 851 Protector with a shrouded hammer seems to be exactly what i'm looking for. Why?
Recently I bought a brand new Model 851 "Protector". This is a .38 Special +P 2" snubby revolver with the shrouded hammer and windage adjustable rear sight. I bought it for $335.00 and this is the Ultra-Lite version that only weighs 17 ounces and has a matte grey finish.
