The Taurus G3 is a striker-fired (DA/SA), recoil-operated, semi automatic pistol that was developed by Forjas Taurus, a famous Brazilian firearms manufacturer, and introduced to the market back in 2019. The Taurus G3 belongs to the Taurus Millennium series of pistols. The G3 model is pretty much a bigger version of the perhaps more popular Taurus G3c, which is a handgun primarily designed for concealed carry purposes.

The Taurus G3 is chambered for the 9x19mm Parabellum, one of the most popular self-defense and concealed carry calibers. The G3 model comes with a double stack magazine that takes in up to incredible 17+1 rounds of the 9mm ammo, which is a number ideal for some proper plinking or range enjoyment.

Based on its main parameters, the Taurus G3 belongs to mid-sized handguns. The overall length of the pistol is 7.28 inches and its barrel is straight 4 inches long. Even though it’s not the most compact handgun out there, its concealment is still fairly easy, especially when paired with a well-fitting holster. 

Just like many other striker-fired pistols, the Taurus G3 is also made of polymer. The pistol comes with a 3-dot fixed sights system. On top of that, the G3 model also comes with a Picatinny rail, which allows for a number of different tactical tools such as lights or lasers to be attached to the pistol. However, the reason why many shooters prefer the Taurus G3 to other handguns in the same size category is its price as a new G3 model comes at approximately $300.
